I think we hit 35 by Jan 2011. Verizon is way ahead with the 4g network. When they get Apple phone this will spike a couple of bucks. I am adding on next big market correction. You can\'t lose it pays 6.5% divy

i think that that is anybody\'s guess good pros and cons on each side .. VZ pays a nice div .. VOD is going w/o divs on a ton of preferreds , it hasn\'t had that as part of cash flow for a few years now . VOD has a good business . I think the big question is how either outfit is going to do if VZ buys VOD\'s stake in the wireless biz. i\'m sure that many folks own both .. it\'s another one of those \"clarity \" things that keeps the institutions cautious ... later .. garce

  • Weird activation question
    Thu, 29 Jul 2010 14:26:41 GMT
I just started a new line with verizon with a blackberry. I did it online and haven\'t activated the phone yet. I was also just informed by my employer that they were switching us all to Verizon and we could either buy (at full retail) the blackberry of our choice or be issued 8300 series Curves. My question is would there be any way Verizon would let me activate the new line blackberry on my work line and just keep the new line I just opene still active? I don\'t mind paying for the service but i really like to have the 9650 that I ordered as my work line. Hopefully that makes sense and any input would be greatly appreciated.
  • Family Plan to Single Plan W/Env3 do we need data?
    Wed, 28 Jul 2010 20:27:56 GMT
Right not we have a family plan (5 lines) 4 of them are up for renewal but the primary still has a year left on it\'s contract. As the 4 will be out of contract soon and with the new data requirement for multimedia phones I am planning on taking the 4 additional lines and going over to another carrier. That will leave my primary on VZW to fulfill the 1 year left on it\'s contract. With that primary line on VZW I was planning on converting the plan to a single line plan from the current family plan. The primary line is a Env3 (multimedia phone). So right now I pay no data on the Env3 as a primary line on a pre January family plan. With the move on that phone to a single line VZW plan would I need to pay for data now since the phone would be assuming a current plan? Thanks in advance.
  • Moving phone upgrade from another line in family plan
    Wed, 28 Jul 2010 17:15:17 GMT
I have a family plan and every line is available for an upgrade execpt the main line. I would like to switch to the droid x on the main line. I noticed online that there is the ability to use the upgrade from another line for the main line. While it would use the other lines upgrade, would it also extend the contract on that line (it is currently out of contract) or just on the line that I switched it to? Not a big deal but we may drop a line from the family plan since we don\'t really need all of our lines. Sorry if this is confusing but I just noticed the ability to do this online and have not seen anyone else mention it.
  • Porting Number to Page+ then Back to VZW
    Wed, 28 Jul 2010 16:44:18 GMT
I\'m considering trying Page+ to see how I like it. I\'m thinking I\'ll try it for 1-2 months, then if I don\'t like it I can switch back to VZW. I was wondering if I ported my number to Page+ and then I wanted to Port it back to VZW, would there be a charge? Would my cellphone still work? Since I\'m on a month-to-month, can I suspend my account and not pay for service for those months?
  • Ordering online with PO Box
    Wed, 28 Jul 2010 15:08:31 GMT
OK, I tried to place an order online but I see where an order cannot be shipped to a PO Box (that\'s understandable) but that billing address and ship to address must match. My issue is this--my credit card billing address is a PO Box so there is no way to place an order online. I even talked to cs and the guy couldn\'t understand why I have 2 different addresses. Is my only option to go into a store to place my order?
  • Verizon users really use more data than AT&T? Independent lab says so....
    Wed, 28 Jul 2010 13:42:03 GMT
http://tech.fortune.cnn.com/2010/07/...ce=yahoo_quote Verizon Droids using more data than iPhones? Posted by Seth Weintraub July 28, 2010 9:32 AM A new survey sugests that iPhone is no longer the data usage champ. AT&T(T) and Apple (AAPL) will tell you until they are blue in the face that the iPhone uses more data than any other device in the history of mobile communications. That\'s why there has been all the fuss about an over-saturated network causing dropped calls.. A study released today by Validas seems to refute those claims, however. According to their findings, the average data consumption for non-Blackberry Verizon smartphones was 421MB per month, compared to the 338MB per month consumed by AT&T iPhone users. Their methodology: Our 2009-2010 Wireless Data Consumption study examines, analyzes and compares information drawn directly from actual consumer bills from 2009 and 2010. It provides year-over-year trends and detailed distribution charts segmented by device and by carrier, providing unique insight into the explosive growth in wireless data, which carriers are benefitting most from it, and which user and device groups are most driving it.
  • Upgrade to Droid X
    Wed, 28 Jul 2010 05:37:16 GMT
Hi, several months ago, my family upgraded our phones and I got a Droid Eris. However, after impatiently dealing with the slow performance of this phone for weeks and weeks, I am sick of it and I would like to upgrade to the Droid X or Incredible. I don\'t really care to spend the money on a new retail one, so I was thinking of buying one either online or possibly from a friend of mine. However, I was wondering if after I deactivated my Eris and activated my new phone, would I be able to sell the Eris on Ebay or something like that? I understand that I wouldn\'t make all that much, but it would be nice to reimburse some of that costly new DX. I feel like I probably would be able to do this, but I just wanted to double check before I go through with this. Thanks!
  • question to reps about commissions
    Wed, 28 Jul 2010 05:01:04 GMT

  • Facebook w/o data plan?
    Wed, 28 Jul 2010 02:21:21 GMT
Hi. I\'m thinking about switching to VZW from USCC. Man, the X rocks, but is it too big? Not sure yet... Anyway...Are their any VZW phones that will let you post updates/pics to Facebook w/o a monthly data plan (not even the $10/month one)? My mom wants to be able to post something occasionally. Not enough to pay for data. Thanks!
  • 3G Roaming on US Cellular... Any Solid Evidence?
    Tue, 27 Jul 2010 14:59:06 GMT
Ive posted in a few threads around the board about this but as I near the end of my 30 Days I find myself conflicted between having a great phone or having USCC\'s great 3G coverage in Oklahoma.... There are some pretty large gaps in Verizons 3g coverage and it would only make since to do so seeing as they worked a roaming agreement in the other direction for USCC.. So my question is.. Has anyone heard any solid evidence of this happening?? It sure would be great on my Droid X...
  • All phones working but one?
    Tue, 27 Jul 2010 06:36:22 GMT
We have 5 lines of service. All are working except one. Calls are working fine from all lines. TXT Messages are getting network error when sending or receiving, from the one line only. No usage controls or blocks in place. However, the number that is not working DID have time restrictions up until last week. - Thoughts?
  • Unordered Phone
    Tue, 27 Jul 2010 00:58:08 GMT
I received an unordered phone from Verizon Wireless. I did not order that phone. The phone shipped to me without my consent. Do I obligate to pay for that? What should I do?
  • Verizon refund difference of old price vs new price?
    Mon, 26 Jul 2010 22:17:08 GMT
I ordered a phone a week ago and now I noticed that its cheaper. Does verizon offer refunds for this? Or will it take hours of complaining? If not, I guess I could return it and re-order online again. If I\'m charged a restocking fee, I would still save money and have a new phone....

  • How is Verizon in Seattle Metro Area, Kitsap Peninsula, and East Bay Area CA?
    Mon, 26 Jul 2010 02:05:04 GMT
I didn\'t know where this thread should be posted, so feel free to move it around if necessary. Currently I\'m in the Seattle area and my family are in the East Bay. We all share an AT&T plan right now but I\'m thinking of moving all of us to Verizon. I want the Droid X or the Incredible and my family don\'t care as long as they a phone they can use to make calls. So how is Verizon\'s coverage in these regions? Does anyone have any problems with these (heavily populated) areas and Verizon\'s coverage? We\'ve never really had any problems with AT&T besides the occasional network congestion, we don\'t drop any calls because signal went dead.
